The consequences of our behaviour are like a shadow that follows
us. Becoming aware of behavioural habits can be a first step towards
learning new ways of moving through the world. New ways in communicating
with others, in dealing with conflicts or in dealing with pressure
or stress. What are effective means of communicating with our colleagues?
How do we handle conflicts or pressure by relying on our inner
strength and wisdom?
In my workshops I use the practical instructions of aikido and
Buddhism. Through the body we can find a relaxed state of being
and calmness and relaxation, both of which contribute to clear
insight and right effort. What is important is mental and physical
relaxation, experimenting with our balance, experiencing the influence
of physical contact, placement and self-reflection. By using exercises
of Aikido I want to introduce you to the possibilities and power
which lie hidden in a relaxed, open, flexible and stabile posture
or attitude.
For those of you who can read Dutch: link to a short
article on Aikido and workpressure.

Workshop ‘Aikido at work’
Aikido is an art of connection and movement deriving from the
Japanese martial arts. Like all martial arts, Aikido is first
and foremost a way of personal development. Caring, for your
wellbeing as well as for the wellbeing of others, is central
to the practice of Aikido. When practising Aikido, we look
for solutions in awareness, presence and connection. Those
are the elements that enable us to stay focussed while at the
same time keeping a broad perspective; to make firm choices
without becoming rigid; and to go with the flow that surrounds
us without feeling like a ‘push-over’. In popular
language we would probably say that Aikido is all about effective
self-management. |

Workshop ‘Core
Communication’
When we communicate from heart to heart, from our core,
these things almost happen spontaneously. We are present
and aware of what is alive. We are able to keep in touch
with ourselves and the people around us. During this
workshop we use Nonviolent Communication™ and Aikido-
principles to become more aware of our connection with ourselves
and others.

Workshop ‘Conflicts: windows for change’
Conflicts are part of life. It can feel like they consume us. Sometimes,
with some practice, we can become more able to use the experience to grow
towards more equanimity and happiness. |
